Our Partner is a leading company specializing in the production of medical implants, dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients worldwide. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controls & Automation Engineer to join our team and help us maintain our status as a leader in the industry. This role involves providing technical support, troubleshooting complex equipment, and executing small/medium manufacturing projects, specifically related to electrical, control, and PLC subsystems. If you have a deep understanding of electrical systems, controls, and machine design, and have experience working with manual, semi-automated, and automated manufacturing equipment, we would like to hear from you. 

Automation & Controls Engineer

• Provide technical production support including troubleshooting of complex manual, semi-automated, and automated manufacturing equipment,

• Execute small/medium manufacturing projects including machine automation and PLC control projects, equipment capacity, part transfers, and cost reduction projects,

• Support equipment purchases following established standards regarding electrical, control, and control system sub-components and equipment,

• Work directly with vendors on tooling and process improvements for existing or new applications,

• Mentor other process specialists, engineers, and technicians to expand the knowledge base of electrical, controls, and machine design,

• Partner with maintenance, engineering, and tool room teams to address line-down issues regarding equipment and process issues and non-conformances,

• Program numerous pieces of numerical code and/or PLC controlled metal fabrication, assembly, finishing, and manufacturing equipment,

• Assist in validation activities within the engineering team, including periodic reviews, equipment qualifications, process validations, and production part approval processes. 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation or a related field,

• Minimum 3-years’ experience in a similar role,

• Fluency in English,

• Strong knowledge of PLC programming, electrical systems, and machine design,

• Experience with troubleshooting complex manual, semi-automated, and automated manufacturing equipment,

• Ability to execute small/medium manufacturing projects,

• Strong communication and mentoring skills,

• Experience working directly with vendors on tooling and process improvements,

• General experience in the healthcare industry (preferred).
