• Manage advanced mechanical design projects, collaborating with R&D, manufacturing, sourcing, and commercial teams to define project scope. Monitor progress and mitigate risks to ensure successful project completion.

• Develop comprehensive Test Plans for projects to ensure alternative components meet requirements and final product performance aligns with specifications.

• Conduct Component and Product level Qualification, including change descriptions, test instruction development, and creation of user guides and manuals.

• Lead redesign efforts for existing products to deepen domain knowledge.

• Play a pivotal role in addressing Obsolescence/Shortage issues.

• Utilize HON specific tools (e.g., JIRA, JAMA) to track design and testing activities (developer test, functional test, automated test, climatic test).

• Implement Design for Manufacturing and Testability principles.

• Select components/materials and utilize appropriate component selection tools (e.g., Preferred Parts List, Preferred Suppliers List).

• Construct and test prototypes, identifying and resolving issues through corrective actions.

• Develop test plans and strategies, specify instrumentation, write test procedures, and analyze test results.

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field.

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering, and Component Engineering.

• Proficiency in Value Analysis/Value Engineering principles and techniques.

• Strong understanding of Mechanical Design and Components, including parameters, material specifications, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, and experience with conditional qualification testing and 3D modeling.

• Familiarity with 3D CAD design systems, CAD tools, and Simulation Tools.

• Experience in Accelerated Life Testing, vibration testing, and Ingress Protection testing and analysis.

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, along with effective negotiation abilities and experience in multitasking and workload prioritization.

• Demonstrated experience in project management, with strong Project Management and Communication skills.
